Prayer is very important in the life of any Muslim. It is not only the first pillar of Islam but after accepting it as vital part of your religion, it also helps Muslims stay mindful of their faith and actions during the day and night
In Islam, The importance of the prayer cannot be understated. Prayer is considered as the first and the most important pillar of Islam. After mentioning the authentication of Faith the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) revealed that. Since that time, it was made mandatory upon all the prophets and for all peoples after them.
Examples of Importance of Prayer in Islam
We have so many reasons to know why prayer is important in Islam. One of them is that prayer is the most essential practice that Islam has and is required for Muslims to pray five times a day, from dusk to dawn to late night. Another point describes the importance of prayer in Islam is that it keeps Muslims united across the world. For example, each of the five daily prayers is set at specific times throughout the day, and all Muslims must pray towards the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Which means that every day, there are billions of people pray at the same time in the same direction.
Through their mandatory prayers, Muslims spend much of it kneeling, even placing their foreheads to the ground. This is how they spend five times a day in a humble position which keeps them aware that they are small on this earth and that Allah is the main purpose for existence.
Importance of prayer in Islam in the light of Quran and Hadith:
On one occasion a man asked the Prophet about the most virtuous deed. The Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) said that the most righteous deed is the prayer. The man asked again and again and for the first three times, the Prophet replied, “The prayer,” then on the 4th time he specified, “Jihad in the way of Allah.”
There are so many benefits that we can get by offering prayers five times a day. Allah has revealed this aspect of the prayer when He said, “the prayer keeps us from the great sins and evil deeds”.
Moreover, it is to be said in Islam that:
If somebody had a stream outside his door and he bathed in it five times a day, do you think he would have any filth left on him?” The people said, “No dirt would remain on him whatsoever.” And then The Prophet answered, “it’s like the five daily prayers: God wipes away the sins by them.
And it should be kept in mind that if are not offering your prayers regularly, you are flouting your Creator. Believe me, this is the most severe and obvious result. The whole purpose of your existence is to worship Allah, yet you are disobeying Allah every day. You are being ungrateful. You will be miserable, you will be lazy. So, what excuse you will give to your creator? Nothing will happen to anyone else because you are only harming yourself. You are playing with disbelief.
